How It's Made:
The image is hand carved into three linoleum blocks using chisels, each lino block is used to print one, or two colors. After the blocks are carved, they are inked and handprinted using a traditional Japanese style barren on thick cotton paper. We do not use a printing press to print our linocut artwork.
* Because the relief print blocks are handprinted, so variation is possible. This variation is often a salt and pepper like transfer. We love this aspect of hand printing linocuts and think it is what makes it superior to mass produced printing.
