The Art of Linocut Printing

Relief printmaking is a centuries-old technique that involves carving an image into a piece of wood, or a linoleum block. The raised areas of the block are then inked and pressed onto paper to create a print. For each print, the inking and pressing process is repeated. We use a printmaking baren instead of a printing press to hand-print each card on high-quality, archival museum-grade cotton rag paper. This paper is thick, durable, and designed to preserve the print’s clarity and vibrancy over time. The result is a card that feels substantial and looks like a piece of fine art. Since our cards are made using this method, each one is completely handmade by us in our studio.
